To be eligible to attend the National Safety Council’s Online Defensive Driving Course, you must first be assigned driver improvement school by a court or judge. Once assigned you will see either 1) this course on a list of approved courses provided by the court or judge or 2) you must ask the court or judge for permission to use the NSC Online DDC course. Upon successful completion of this course, the Court you specify during registration, will be notified automatically within 2 business days.

The Online Defensive Driving Course is an interactive program that is fully narrated and based on the same content as the National Safety Council's instructor-led Defensive Driving Course, the most widely used driver improvement course. The goal of the Defensive Driving Course is to train drivers in collision prevention techniques while promoting an attitude of mutual understanding, courtesy and cooperation on the road.
